REMEMBER YOUR RADIANCE

Mineral Magic for Women + Families

Minerals are our elemental inheritance.

As babies, we received an elemental inheritance - for better or for worse. Our mother passed on minerals, as well as any heavy metals she had accumulated, to us in utero. As mothers, we give 10% (4 pounds!) of our mineral stores to our babies during pregnancy. Most of us inherited generational imbalances and toxic loads, and many of us are passing them on to our own children. By understanding our mineral status and supporting our bodies to come back into balance, we are breaking cycles and offering healing for generations to come.

Mineral balancing is generational healing, embodied.

Minerals are the oft-overlooked backbone of thousands of enzymatic functions in the body, from digestion to hormone production to nerve signaling. When they are imbalanced or depleted, our bodies struggle to function at full capacity. Our cells literally lose their ability to take in nutrients and create energy, leading to dysfunction throughout the body.

Hair tissue mineral analysis

is a non-invasive tissue biopsy that assesses mineral and metal levels in the hair. It reveals a map of your cellular health, nervous system patterns, emotional wellness, and so much more. This window into your cells allows us to attune to your bio-individual needs and create a personalized path to wellness.

If you’ve tried everything and still feel “off”, minerals may be the missing piece of the puzzle.

What causes mineral imbalances?

Soil Depletion & Poor Diets

Modern farming practices have left our soils deficient in many key minerals, so even healthier food options contain significantly less nutrients than they did before the industrial revolution. In addition, many of us have histories of restrictive eating and consuming poor quality foods.

ENvironmental Exposures

Exposure to heavy metals and other toxins is almost impossible to avoid in the modern world. Our bodies burn through extra mineral resources to deal with toxic exposures, leading to imbalances and metal accumulation.

Generational Inheritance

As babies, we receive an elemental inheritance from our maternal line - for better or for worse. Our mother passed on minerals, as well as any heavy metals she had accumulated, to us in utero. As mothers, we give 10% of our mineral stores to our babies during pregnancy. Most of us inherited generational imbalances and toxic loads, and many of us are passing them on to our own children.

Stress & Trauma

Stress causes us to burn through essential minerals at a faster rate. These same minerals support our bodies in dealing with stress in a healthy way. If we are not replenishing as quickly as we are losing minerals, this becomes a vicious cycle that leads to burnout.

Poor Digestion & Absorption

Many of us are dealing with chronic digestive issues like low stomach acid, leaky gut, bacterial imbalances, and food sensitivities. When digestion isn’t optimal, we can struggle to absorb nutrients from the food we eat. Minerals are needed for digestive function, so this becomes another self-perpetuating cycle.

Medications & Supplements

Many medications and supplements compete with and/or deplete certain essential minerals. Even simple mineral supplements should be taken in a way that’s mindful of mineral and vitamin interactions.

FAQs

  • 1. You receive a test kit in the mail, along with emailed instructions and an intake form. You cut a small section of hair and mail it to the lab with your test kit.

    2. I receive your results, assess them, and create a personalized nourishment plan, including dietary recommendations, supplement suggestions, nervous system practices, and lifestyle shifts.

    3. I share your results and nourishment plan with you via a pre-recorded video or a live consultation. You receive a written PDF report via email. I am available via email for any follow up questions you may have.

    4. You nourish your body, mind, and spirit in a new, deeper way!

  • I recommend testing every 3-4 months in the initial phases of mineral balancing. This allows us to assess progress and adjust your nourishment plan as needed. Mineral balancing is not a quick-fix, but rather a slow and gentle approach to healing. For many people, a year is a realistic amount of time to see significant improvement, but this depends on your bio-individual circumstances as well as your commitment to nourishing yourself.

  • Our bodies work hard to maintain homeostasis in our blood, to keep things running smoothly. Excess minerals and metals are often stored in the tissues to maintain blood homeostasis, and they can likewise be taken at the expense of tissues when needed in the blood.

Blood shows us a snapshot of a moment, while hair shows us a longer term view of the past ~3 months. Both blood and hair testing can be supportive, as they show us very different pictures.

  • No, I do not use chelators in my practice. I use a nourishment approach and support the body’s innate detox pathways rather than intense “detoxes” or “cleanses”. Heavy metals are often standing in for deficient minerals in the body, so as we replace those minerals, we will naturally begin to move metals out at a slow and sustainable pace. By replacing minerals and slowing our use of them, we are also protecting ourselves against future metal accumulation.

  • Yes! Mineral balancing is an amazing support for the childbearing year. I approach mineral balancing in a slow and gentle manner to prevent quick detoxification, and work with many gentle and food-based supplements.
