Labor & Birth Support
As your birth doula, I will help you feel resourced, prepared, and empowered through the journey of pregnancy and birth. I hold a deep reverence for and trust in physiologic birth. My goal as a doula is to offer unbiased support and hold space for each family’s unique needs and desires.
-
I will be on call to attend your birth beginning at 37 weeks. I will meet you at your home or desired birth place during active labor and will stay with you until you and baby are settled in after birth.
During labor, I will be present to offer you (and your partner/family) emotional and physical support, information around choices that may come up, and help with older children. I deeply value informed consent and will help you to feel resourced when decision-making is necessary. I will support your care team in creating an environment that makes you feel safe and held and allows for birth to unfold physiologically.
Birth packages include a minimum of 2 prenatal visits and 2 postpartum visits. Additional visits may be added at a discounted hourly rate.

Postpartum Care
Bringing a new baby into the world is a huge transition, whether they’re your first or your fifth. It truly takes a village and the nuclear family setup leaves much to be desired as far as community support goes. You deserve to feel held and nourished while you rest, heal, and bond, without worrying about what’s for dinner or who’s going to tackle the ever-growing pile of dirty laundry. As your postpartum doula, I’ll offer practical household help as well as postpartum-specific body therapies, emotional support, and a warm, calm presence.
-
Traditional cultures worldwide know that the immediate postpartum period is crucial in determining the health of a mother through menopause and beyond. Our bodies need deep rest to heal and our baby needs all of our presence and attention. Prior to the modern nuclear family system, postpartum women and young families had their practical needs taken care of by their community during this time so they could rest, bond, and integrate. Modern mothers are expected to “bounce back” to their normal pace of life with no time to heal and bond. These expectations lead to depletion, nervous system dysregulation, pelvic floor issues… all of which affect our bodies for the rest of our lives, as well as our children’s health and wellbeing.
As your doula, I’ll tend to your physiologic, emotional, and spiritual needs as a postpartum mother. I offer grounded, evidence-based care rooted in traditional wisdom and my own experience as a mother and caregiver. I deeply trust in your innate ability to mother your children and will always support your choices and your intuition above all.

Testimonials
“While my first birth experience was beautiful, I didn’t anticipate the level of deep healing and rest I needed afterward. Without family in the area, we needed help! That’s where Kelsi came in.
Kelsi’s gentle and supportive presence was truly a gift. She was attentive, listening to our needs and providing aid where we needed it most. For us, that meant personalized nourishing meals & snacks that fit my dietary and constitutional needs (which were so delicious!), herbal concoctions and postpartum body tending including moxa for womb support, herbal sitz, massage, and helping with baby carrying. Not to mention our wonderful conversations and her kind ear - a must for new parents!
We felt cared for and trusted Kelsi’s capable hands and compassionate heart. I feel so lucky to have had her in our corner & cocoon during such a tender, yet sacred and transformative time.“
— Venessa R., doula client
“Kelsi was my birth and postpartum doula and she was absolutely amazing - during a difficult time!! She sat down with us to talk about our postpartum intentions and was thoughtful about our personal considerations - work schedules, pets, gardens etc. This was so helpful to bring us together to help us be realistic about our expectations.
When the time came, Kelsi was there for the birth. A blur to me now but I remember being dutifully taken care of. She was a supportive presence in the delivery and like a little magic creature, she tidied up after the ordeal whilst midwives tended to me. I completely trust her to take care of my home and my creatures, but me and baby above all.
Kelsi’s food deliveries were exceptional and I still crave her food. Massages were great, moxa fabulous. A gentle but supportive presence, friendly and professional. I am so glad she is a part of those memories for me.
Endless praise and thanks for Kelsi!!”

Yes! I bill insurance companies directly.
As of 2026, insurance companies in Oregon are mandated to cover doula services. It is an evolving landscape and your coverage will depend on your insurance company and plan. If you’re privately insured and interested in doula services, please reach out and I can help you look into your coverage.
-
I am currently working on OHP’s credentialing process. I hope to be able to bill OHP by early 2027. In the meantime, I am offering sliding scale doula services.

Choosing who will attend your birth is a deeply personal decision. Birth is a private, vulnerable experience and it’s important to feel safe and comfortable with whomever you choose to support you.
First time parents often find doula support invaluable. If your partner has never witnessed a birth before, it will be an intense experience for them as well. Even a smooth labor can feel stressful, exhausting, and even scary at times. A doula can ease the transition by guiding your prenatal preparation and offering comforting, grounding presence to both parents during labor.
If you’ve given birth before, you likely have a sense of what kind of support you like in labor. Some mothers prefer privacy, while others desire more physical and/or emotional support. If you know you prefer privacy, you may not want a birth doula. Or you may want a doula only for prenatal care, sibling and household support during a home birth, or immediate postpartum care.
